Boys. It’s what my life consists of. On a daily basis, when I’m not having a session (and not up late editing) they’re the rest of my day. I get to hear about gross things, and see boys just being boys. Sometimes, it’s pretty cool. Getting to make shields and swords out of cardboard is awesome, although I may introduce them to the world of paper mache and making some really awesome things then…but most of the time, they’re busy being superheroes anyway. My littlest hasn’t quite gotten to that stage of superhero amazement and awe yet though. He just turned 9 months, and I had to share a favorite image I captured of him earlier in the day with all of you.
p.s. if you’re reading this, let me know you’re out there, okay? 🙂
Anyway…it was this image:
Now, I know, I know! It’s NOT at all like the rest of my work, but I LOVE it. I had to actually do these for my photography class, which is The Digital Darkroom | PH 227. The thing I had to do for the actual class was capture an image, create a certain tone for it, and then put a texture on it. It’s way outside of my normal style, but to me, it was completely effective to show a little Clark Kent (a.k.a. my little superman) since the texture and coloring make it appear older (Superman HAS been around for a while, right?!) and then my glasses just did the rest, although he does have a pretty cute face too. He did that all himself.
I can’t wait to put this in an album for him as he grows. Now I just have to get to doing a superhero shoot with all of his brothers so there is the consistent theme going on in it! I’m sure it’ll be fun to plan though.
If you might even want your own superhero themed shoot, let me know! I would love to work to create something uniquely for you and your own little superhero! (and if your superhero is a supergirl, that’s just as good!) Hope to hear from you soon Toledo!
