As a Toledo newborn photographer, I’ve always used some kind of sound machine during baby sessions, along with a nice warm heater blowing on low to keep baby comfortable. I can now tell you I’ve found the BEST one that I know of. Recently, I found out about something different, and of course, before trying to see how it could keep a baby relaxed during a session, I decided to try it on my own child. Please note, my own child has been inconsolable. He’s been fighting the pain from teething for months, and waking up every few hours because his poor gums were so sore. I doubted that it would work, but it did. I have to agree with other parents that it’s a miracle. The dad who decided to record a loop of himself doing shushing sounds for his wife because her shushing just didn’t work as well is now going to be a very wealthy guy. I kinda wish I would have thought of it. So, you’re probably wondering what on earth it is. It’s the Baby Shusher. It’s available as an app on iPads and iPhones. I bought mine for around $4.99. Of course, if this isn’t an option because you’re using a droid device, or don’t want to have to keep your phone or iPad in your baby’s room all night, don’t worry, you’re covered. It’s a bit more pricey, but worth every penny, in my opinion. 🙂
Amazon has two offers that have it, which simply has been added to a child-proof device that plays that unending shushing for around 10 minutes. You can find the two options , or
and I swear they work. My app has worked for what were known as “cranky babies” during their sessions, and since these still provide that same soothing and relaxing sound, it’ll do the same for you. In the early stages of parenting when sleep just seems to not be found, this may just be a life saver. I wanted to pass on the awesomeness. Please note, these are affiliate links through Amazon, which I do benefit slightly from, but I wanted to share what makes my life easier, and what makes sessions go easier. If you do happen to have an iPhone or an iPad, try it out, let me know what you think! Here’s to happier sleeping!
